DESCRIPTION:5th Annual Spring Flowers \nInternational Conference on Myanmar \nFebruary 11-14\, 2026 \nIn conjunction with \na celebration of Myanmar Union Day \nFebruary 14\, 2026 \nIn an effort to support peace and democracy in Myanmar (Burma)\, the Burmese American Community Institute (BACI) in partnership with co-host and collaborators\, will be hosting the 5th Spring Flowers International Conference on Myanmar from February 11 to 14\, 2026. The conference will bring together local\, national\, and international actors from diverse backgrounds. Its outcome will play a critical role in shaping the strategic direction and vision of the future of Myanmar as we contribute to building a democratic and federal Union of Myanmar. The conference objectives are: \nConference objectives: \n\nPromoting critical analysis and deeper understanding of the challenges Myanmar is currently facing\,\nStrengthening a common understanding of the challenges and opportunities in forging a strong and unified response to help resolve the conflict in Myanmar and in developing strategies and approaches to building a new Myanmar\, and\nBringing together stakeholders from diverse backgrounds\, including elected representatives\, government officials\, EAOs/EROs\, international non-governmental organizations (NGOs)\, civil society organizations (CSOs)\, diaspora groups\, women and youth groups\, rights groups\, media\, academics\, etc. to strengthen a path to achieve a unified vision and strategy.\n\nThe program will include keynote speeches and panel presentations of academic papers. Musical and cultural performances will also be featured. \nExpected outcome of the conference includes generation of innovative ideas that help inform a common vision for a new Myanmar and provide strategic priorities and policy guidance for the democracy movement as well as help find solutions to the ongoing conflict in the country in the short term and the long-term development\, peace\, and prosperity for a new Myanmar. \nThis hybrid event – February 11-12 hosted virtually\, and February 14 organized in-person in Indianapolis – will draw hundreds of youths\, students and friends of Myanmar from around the world. DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to extend our cordial invitation to a celebration of 77th Myanmar Union Day\, celebrated on February 10\, 2024 in Indianapolis. \nMyanmar Union Day is the celebration of Unity\, Freedom\, and Democracy. This day is also to celebrate cultural diversity and historical heritages of many ethnic and religious groups from Myanmar. This occasion also serves as the opportunity for incoming and receiving communities\, all our neighbors\, friends and families to come together as one community\, promoting a greater understanding and integration. \nThe event will feature Cultural and Traditional Dances from various ethnic groups of Burma\, Ethnic Fashion Show\, Music\, Speeches\, & more. Delightful authentic cultural food snacks will also be available at the event. DESCRIPTION:3rd Spring Flowers \nInternational Conference on Myanmar \nFebruary 7-10\, 2024 \nIn conjunction with \na celebration of Myanmar Union Day \nFebruary 10\, 2024 \nIn an effort to support peace and democracy in Myanmar (Burma)\, the Burmese American Community Institute (BACI) in partnership with co-hosts and collaborators\, will be hosting the 3rd Spring Flowers International Conference on Myanmar from February 7 to 10\, 2024. The conference will bring together local\, national\, and international actors from diverse backgrounds. Its outcome will play a critical role in shaping the strategic direction and vision of the Myanmar democracy movement and the future of Myanmar as we contribute to building a democratic and federal Union of Myanmar. The conference objectives are: \n\nPromoting critical analysis and deeper understanding of the challenges Myanmar is currently facing\,\nAchieving common understanding of the challenges and opportunities in forging a strong and unified response to help resolve the conflict in Myanmar and in developing strategies and approaches to building a new Myanmar\, and\nBringing together stakeholders from diverse backgrounds\, including elected representatives\, government officials\, international non-governmental organizations (NGOs)\, civil society organizations (CSOs)\, rights groups\, media\, academics\, etc. to achieve a unified vision and strategy through substantive policy discussions\, expert panels\, and debates.\n\nThe program will include (1) keynote speeches\, (2) expert panels\, (3) panel presentations of academic papers\, and (4) roundtable discussions.
