Application for Cultural Dance Club – Upward College Prep & Leadership Development Program 2023

May 23, 2023 – The Burmese American Community Institute is pleased to announce today the releasing of the application for Cultural Dance Club at BACI Upward College Prep & Leadership Development Program 2023.

Cultural Dance Club at the BACI College Prep and Leadership Development Program is designed for high school students to participate in dance practice, perform the dance at various events around the city whereby promoting a greater understanding of the community through cultural advocacy and engagement.

In addition, the Club members will have the opportunities to participate in activities aimed to help develop leadership skills, problem solving skills, critical thinking skills, academic writing skills and more through group sessions, individualized mentorship, volunteer and community service projects, etc. The program also include activities focusing on student participants’ college and career readiness such as resume building, essay writing, campus visits, educational and leadership field trips etc. Program activities will also promote active learning and healthy lifestyle by implementing sporting activities and more.

Eligibility:

Youth from area High Schools who are:

• Grade: 9, 10, 11, or 12;
• Are between the ages of 15 and 22; and
• Interested in cultural dance, personal and leadership development.

The application deadline of May 31, 2023.
