Application for 2024 Summer College Prep & Leadership Development Program Released

February 28, 2024 – Burmese American Community Institute is pleased to announce today the releasing of the application for BACI’s Summer College Preparation & Leadership Development Program 2024.

Eligibility
- Local High School and Middle School students

College Prep and Leadership Development Program is a highly interactive, constructive, and fun 7-weeks project that focuses on college access, English training, critical thinking and leadership development. Participants will have opportunities to gain the highest level of competency and confidence in leadership, knowledge, and cultural skills through class, volunteer and community service projects. The programs also include activities focusing on student participants’ college and career readiness such as resume writing, soft skills, campus visits, and educational and leadership field trips etc. Program activities will also promote healthy and active learning and lifestyle of the students by implementing sporting activities, cultural dances, and picnics.

Leadership Camp will also be an exciting component that we will be implementing this year where students will be able to fully enjoy leadership activities, college readiness & career readiness activities alongside with the mentors and parents at the campsite.

Application deadline is May 1st. We will call/email you soon after we receive your application to set up an interview to get to know each other and to share you about the program agenda. We will be conducting interviews on a first come first serve basis. We will notify you by early May, the latest, to let you know if you are accepted to the Program. We will hold all students & a parent orientation on May 29th or 30th.
