CRPI 2022
In 2022 summer the following 22 research topics and projects were successfully designed and executed.

Application for CRPI 2023 Policy Action Research Released
January 1, 2023—Indianapolis, IN, USA: The Burmese American Community Institute (BACI) in conjunction with the National University of the Union of Myanmar (NUUM) today announced the release of the application for the CRPI Policy Action Research Summer 2023 Program with the Center for Research, Policy and Innovation (CRPI).
In this program, researchers and scholars will participate in intensive scientific group research projects from June 3 – August 11, 2023 primarily utilizing participatory action research (PAR) methodology. In consultation with the CRPI Directors and under the leadership of research fellows or lead researchers, teams of 5 to 7 researchers and scholars will form and propose topics for research. Each research team is expected to produce an academic paper that includes its main findings and solution-oriented policy recommendations and present it to relevant stakeholders at the end of the project. Project deliverables include:
• A 20-30 page academic paper with policy and action recommendations
• An executive summary of the paper that outlines the main findings of the study and policy recommendations
• PowerPoint slides for the final research/project presentation
• Literature reviewed, documentation relating to the methodology (such as survey forms), and raw data.
The CRPI Policy Action Research will be carried out through NUUM and carries up to 9 credit hours.
Eligibility requirements:
• High school diploma/GED (completed high school or equivalent). College students and graduate students are encouraged to apply.
• All nationalities (Burmese nationals or Myanmar citizens will be given preference).
• 18 years of age and above or 16-17 years with parental permission.
• Interest in policy- and solution-oriented research.
English proficiency. Applicants should submit IELTS/TOEFL scores or any other scores of relevant tests taken in the past five years. Applicants who cannot provide test scores may be required to sit for an English proficiency assessment interview.

Full tuition scholarship in the form of tuition fees remission or waiver is available. Tuition fees at the NUMM is $150 per credit hour. The CRPI Policy Action Research carries up to 9 credit hours. This means each admitted student will receive a scholarship in the amount of $1,350 for CRPI Summer 2023.

The National University of the Union of Myanmar (NUUM) was established in July 2021 under the auspices of the Burmese American Community Institute in consultation with its partners and stakeholders, especially with diverse groups of people in Myanmar. It currently offers six certificate programs to Myanmar students through online courses taught by instructors from Myanmar as well as friends of Myanmar from around the globe.
